Feeling numb may be a default zone; but we must not stay in that zone for long
Ever felt overwhelmed by so many emotions that you feel numb?
If yes, then let’s look at why we feel numb; when we do?
Numbing stonewalls us from our own emotions. When the intensity of our emotions is high we retort to feeling numb.
Numbing prevents us from
- Feeling emotions
- It keeps us stuck
- It adds an emotional weight which adds to our emotional density; keeping us emotionally static
It’s important to feel emotions at all times
- If you have been feeling numb, intentionally visit the event that caused over flooding of emotions
- Get to the heart of the feeling
- Feel and name all emotions you are feeling
- After feeling each emotion
- Sit with yourself to feel any residue of pain that’s left to be felt
- Forgive and set boundaries
- Take lessons from the event
Promise yourself to feel everything as numbing makes feeling anything impossible
The truth is we cannot prevent pain ; only feel it and release it
